‘Don’t interfere’; Owaisi reminds Pak of Malala

New Delhi: Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who tried to lecture India on girl’s education on Wednesday morning, got a stern reply from AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

Addressing a poll rally in Uttar Pradesh, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi told the neighbours to mind their own business. Owaisi said that the country which could not protect Malala should not lecture India on girl education.

“Pakistan should not lecture India on girl education. Malala was shot there. They failed to provide security to their girls and are now lecturing India,” he said.

Owaisi’s remark came after Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said India was ‘violating Muslim girls’ human rights by depriving them of education’

“Depriving Muslim girls of an education is a grave violation of fundamental human rights. To deny anyone this fundamental right & terrorise them for wearing a hijab is absolutely oppressive,” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in a tweet.

“World must realise this is part of Indian state plan of ghettoisation of Muslims,” Qureshi added.

In a reply to the Pakistani FM, Owaisi said that the Karnataka hijab row was India’s internal issue and others should not interfere. “People of Pakistan should worry about their internal conflicts, no need to interfere in our issues,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Owaisi tweeted that he had spoken to Muskan, the girl who was heckled by a mob for wearing burqa to college in Karnataka on Tuesday. He said that he spoke to the girl and her family

“Prayed for her to remain steadfast in her commitment to education while also exercising her freedom of religion & choice. I conveyed that her act of fearlessness has become a source of courage for us all,” Owaisi said.
