Siddu: No pro-people development or job creation after Modi became PM

Mohammed Nalpad took charge as the new president of Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee(KPYC) at a colourful function held at the Congress office here on Thursday.
Congress Legislature Party(CLP) Leader Siddaramaiah, KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar and others handed over the party flag to Nalpad marking his official takeover. Speaking on the occasion, Siddaramaiah said dalits, farmers, workers, women and minorities are facing problems after the BJP led NDA came to power at the Centre. As a result, the responsibility of protecting the country’s Constitution and democracy lies with the Congress Party.
Youth must understand their responsibility and work in this direction. No pro-people development has taken place after Narendra Modi became prime minister. The BJP government is running the show by playing with people’s sentiments. Modi has been the biggest liar since independence and his statements on doubling farmers' income, eradication of corruption and creation of two crore jobs every year are nothing but a sham. The slogan of ‘Sab ka sath, sab ka vikas’ has never been implemented.
Training his guns on the state government, the former CM said development has come to a standstill in the last four years after the BJP came to power. They have made the headscarf a big issue to divert the attention of people. The saffron party is trying to create insecurity among minorities by raking up such issues. The Sangh Parivar is forcing youth to wear saffron shawls. “I had never seen school and college students wearing saffron shawls. This is a new trend created by the BJP”
KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar accused the BJP of misguiding youth and sowing seeds of hate in the minds of children. The ongoing row over the uniform dress code is not a battle between the BJP and Congress but between those who support the Constitution and those who are against it. It is not possible to build a nation based on emotional issues and what is needed is serious thinking, he added.
Shivakumar also quipped that the NEP was not National Educational Policy but 'Nagpur Education Policy'. Higher Education Minister Dr C.N. Ashwath Narayana had declared that the policy would be implemented for the first time in Karnataka. It would not happen as the Congress Party would come to power in 2023 and they would reject the policy. “Congress power is the nation's power and Congress history is the country’s history. If this party comes to power, it is akin to all communities coming to power as the Congress is not limited to a single caste or community. The BJP is spoiling young minds in the name of caste or religion,” he added.
