Groom runs, Did he make it to the muhurat?

Sometimes you may have to run and run to marry the dream girl of your choice. It could even be several kilometres and a groom realised how true this is after he was virtually forced to run 2 kilometres to make sure he did not miss the crucial ‘muhurat’ of his wedding. It happened on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border at Dimbam Ghat.
Recently, the Madras high court had banned vehicular movement on the 45 km long Ghat road due to the death of wild animals in mishaps on National Highway 209. The order came into effect on Thursday.
In fact the district collector of Erode had issued an order banning night traffic way back in 2019 but it remained unimplemented. Recently, an environmentalist petitioned the Madras High Court. Subsequently, the HC asked the DC of Erode to implement the order from February 10.
Accordingly, the border was closed at 10 pm on Thursday. Due to closure of the highway, hundreds of vehicles piled up on both sides and one of them carried a marriage party which was supposed to go to Bannari in Tamil Nadu. The groom ran for over two kilometres to find a vehicle to reach the choultry. Drivers of other vehicles were quick to capture the ‘groom on the run’ on their mobiles. The videos went viral on social media.
