Alcoholic man kills wife in Mysuru

Mysuru: A 23-year-old woman was killed by her husband after she insisted that he quit alcohol in Udaygiri police station limits in Mysuru on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Sandhya, a resident of AK Colony of Kyathamaranahalli of Mysuru city, while her husband, Kiran, 27, is the accused. The couple got married four years ago and have a child.

According to police, Kiran was an alcoholic and Sandhya had got him admitted at a de-addiction centre. Once he was discharged, he resumed drinking. On Saturday night, Sandhya got into a fight over his alcoholism. Kiran allegedly killed Sandhya by strangulating her, they said.
