Pillion rider dies in accident in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A pillion rider died on the spot when his colleague lost balance of the two-wheeler they were riding. The incident took place Sunday morning near Kengeri traffic police station limits.

Harshit, 21, a resident of Mandya district was killed while his friend Sunil, survived with minor injuries. According to the police, Harshit was staying in Madanayakanahalli and working as a bar-bender at a local shop. Police said the accident happened around 7.30 am, when the duo were riding towards NICE road railway bridge. Harshit was carrying iron bars and rods on his lap.

“While nearing the NICE road, a car coming from behind touched the handle of the two-wheeler which made Sunil lose balance,” police said. As the bike fell, the duo were thrown off and the iron bars fell on Harshit due to which he died on the spot.
