
Bride’s organs donated in Kolar

After she collapsed on her marriage day and died in a tragic incident, the vital organs of Chitra, who worked as lecturer at Bhairaveshwara College near Kivara, including her heart, eyes and kidneys were donated to the needy by her parents.
Chitra hails from a farmers’ family and was the daughter of Ramappa and Akkamma. On her marriage day, she greeted her family members and friends till 9 pm and then suddenly collapsed in the reception hall. Doctors who were present on the occasion, examined her and took her to a hospital at Srinivaspura who recommended that she be taken to Nimhans Hospital in Bengaluru.
She was diagnosed to have suffered a brain stroke and treated for five consecutive days. But on Saturday, doctors said she was brain dead and any further treatment was of no use.
Since her recovery was near impossible, her parents decided to donate her organs so that her daughter could be of use to the living.
