Siddu: Doors of Cong open to JDS MLAs

Shyam Sundar Vattam/NT Bengaluru, Nov 1

The doors of the Congress Party are always open to leaders of the Janata Dal (Secular) who are ready to ready to follow the principles and ideology of the grand old party, said Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah.

With a suffocating atmosphere prevailing in the JD(S), how is it possible for leaders of that party to engage in politics., he wondered Former CM and JDS leader, H.D. Kumaraswamy has already decided to throw out Gubbi MLA S.R.Srinivas from the party and he was not even invited to a recent party function.

‘’When a four-term MLA had been neglected like trash what should he do? The JDS has the habit of dumping MLAs after they are used. There is a wrong notion that I resigned and came out of the JD(S) but the truth is that I was expelled just because I had started organising AHINDA. JD(S) supremo H.D.Deve Gowda is known for using people and throwing them away like fruit peels”.

Siddaramaiah also cleared the air saying that he was not compelling anyone to join the Congress Party. Srinivas was earlier invited to join the Congress during the Assembly session which he rejected. The doors of the Congress are always open to those who agree to follow the ideology and principles of the party.

“Deve Gowda told me not to hold the AHINDA convention but I told him that it will benefit the party. Gowda reiterated his statement as national president of the party. I offered to hold the convention jointly which he declined. I went ahead with the convention and got expelled from the JD(S)”.

The Congress leader said the ruling BJP has no locus standi to beg for votes in Hangal and Sindagi constituencies as the incumbent government had not done anything for the people there. With no performance to show, the BJP has distributed money to buy votes but the Congress will bag both seats.

The results of the by-poll are definitely not an indicator for the coming 2023 polls but it will show how much people are unhappy with the government. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has not done anything for Hangal despite belonging to Haveri district. The people will show their anger against the BJP by voting for the Congress, he added.
