Hubballi: Former CM B.S. Yediyurappa said that he will tour the entire state again after the Council elections to strengthen the party and enable it to win 140 seats in the Karnataka Assembly elections in 2023.

Addressing the Jana Swaraj Yatra here on Friday, he said that efforts will be made to take into confidence all communities and people who have not yet come into the party fold. Exhorting party workers to address the grievances of SC/ST communities, he expressed confidence that the BJP will win at least 20 out of the total 25 seats in the Council elections.

Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to withdraw the controversial farm laws, Yediyurappa claimed the PM has responded positively to the demand of farmers who were staging protests for the past one year. “It was the desire of farmer leaders that the three laws should be withdrawn. They had claimed some shortcomings in the new laws and the Modi government tried to address them to a large extent. The question of victory or defeat of any side does not arise on this issue. I thank and congratulate the PM for taking this historic decision”, Yediyurappa said.

Terming Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a ‘part-time politician,’ transport minister B Sriramulu said that no one has any idea where he would be after the elections. He also alleged that Congress is involved in ‘scam politics’ while the BJP is focusing on the politics of development.

Lambasting Opposition leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah for his alleged remarks on SC/ STs, Sriramulu said the BJP has never used these communities as a vote bank and honoured them with plum posts like that of the President of India.

Ministers Govind Karjol, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa and other legislators from the region were present.
