Yaba tablets from Myanmar sold in city

A 30-year-old peddler selling Yaba tablets in the city after getting it from the Myanmar border, has been arrested by the Wilson Garden police.

The police have identified the peddler as Bidarul Islam Mustafa, 30, a resident of Batthalapalli in Hosur. The police have recovered 1503 Yaba tablets worth around Rs 18 lakh from the accused.

The police have taken the peddler into custody and are checking his mobile phone to ascertain the details of his clients. The accused was travelling in trains from Assam while transporting the drug.

Bolero jeep used for Covid duty seized while transporting drugs

The North division police have arrested two drug peddlers and have recovered 103 kilograms of ganja from them. Both the peddlers are from Andhra Pradesh and were transporting the ganja in a Bolero jeep which was earlier used for COVID duty. On a tip off, the Sanjaynagar police arrested the accused who are identified as Prakash and Shiva Prakash, both natives of Vishakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The two have told police that they were getting ganja from another peddler and they were acting at his behest.

Prakash was earlier working at a mine in Gujarat and had returned back to his native place a year ago. Shiva Prakash, the driver of the Bolero jeep was using the government stickers which were mandatory for vehicles during the nationwide lockdown. Using such stickers, he had a free run transporting the drugs.

The police have also recovered the Bolero jeep from the duo.

Drug peddler from Brazil arrested

The city police have arrested a drug peddler from Brazil who was getting cocaine from Delhi. The accused reportedly had contacts with international drug peddlers who were getting cocaine after ingesting it, also known as body stuffing large amounts of cocaine in an attempt to conceal it. The accused has been identified as Chibueze Chinonso. The Govindapura police who made the arrest have recovered 910 grams of cocaine worth Rs 1.3 crores from him. The accused was staying in HBR Layout 4th block.
