Suspend members or adjourn sine die: HDK

Taking a dig at Congress Party members for disrupting Assembly proceedings, former CM and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy urged Speaker Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri to suspend the members or adjourn the House sine die.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, he said approximately Rs 1 crore of taxpayers’ money was being spent on conducting the session for a day. Instead of discussing problems of farmers, workers and citizens, the Congress party has wasted two days on the flag issue. The Congress has made this a prestige issue only with the intention of seeking the resignation of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Minister K.S.Eshwarappa and is not bothered about people’s issues, he contended. If the government cannot conduct the session properly, it is better to put it off indefinitely, he added.
The former CM also said the education system has been destroyed due to the hijab-saffron shawl controversy and an attitude of confrontation prevails everywhere. “Saffron colour is very sacred for Hindus and no one must spoil it’s sanctity. Sages and saints have been wearing saffron robes for thousands of years”.
