Revanna 's lemons: Revanna will not step out of his house without two or three lemons

Former minister H.D.Revanna and lemons have a intimate bond which has been continuing for many many years. Revanna will not step out of his house without two or three lemons in his shirt pocket. At functions, he would be seen holding five to six fresh lemons in his hands to keep evil forces at bay.

Recently, he attended a function in Hassan with three to four lemons in his hand. During the course of the function, an MLA asked Revanna to distribute the lemons among the audience. Without thinking twice, the son of former PM Deve Gowda rolled out the lemons to the audience who hesitantly picked them up. What did they do with the lemons ultimately? Did they keep them? That's a million dollar question.

Gala time
During every session, opposition parties enjoy every moment of the time they spend in the House and more so when they have the ruling party in an embarrasing spot. This time is no different. The lawmakers have decided to spend a few days inside Vidhana Soudha as part of an overnight dharna they are holding demanding the ouster of a minister.

The dharna by Congress MLAs and MLCs has been goign on for the last three days demanding sacking of RDPR Minister K.S.Eshwarappa for allegedly insulting the national Tricolor. The Congress members could have ended the stir after boycotting the proceedings. But, they preferred to spend five days in the House to press for their demand. The government is arranging beds, mattresses, breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee/tea and light snacks. The CM is expected to visit them to enquire about their well-being.

The hidden talents of legislators come to the fore once in a while. A few years ago, the government used to conduct Legislators’ Day and MLAs would take part in fancy dress contests. Once ex-CM S.M.Krishna had donned the role of Lord Krishna and stole the show. Now, JD(S) MLA Bhojegowda has enthralled his legislator friends by singing songs during the overnight dharna . The BJP has singers of filmy songs, bhajans and harikatha. Let lawmakers frequently hold overnight dharnas so their real talent comes to the fore!
