NIA probe? Let cops probe first, says CM

The state government will take a decision on referring the murder case of a Bajrang Dal activist in Shivamogga City on Sunday last to any other agency depending on the outcome of the ongoing police investigation, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said currently, local cops are probing the incident from all angles and if the investigation needs to be taken further, the government will choose a suitable agency. Till then, the murder will be probed by Shivamogga cops, he added.
Bommai said the immediate priority before the government is to reestablish peace in Shivamogga City and ensure law and order.
