Former state police chief Dr Ajai Kumar Singh has urged the state government to initiate action against those who organised and led the procession in violation of the prohibitory orders imposed in Shivamogga on Monday, during the funeral of the slain Bajarang Dal activist Harsha.

“I was SP Shivamogga in 1981-83. I deeply love Shivamogga as I love Karnataka. The police must quickly bring to book all those involved in the murder of the Bajarang Dal activist Harsha. They must also take immediate action against those who organised and led the procession in violation of the prohibitory orders. They should be proceeded against not only for the violation of the orders, but also for the resultant violence,” Singh in a media statement said.

“I earnestly request the Chief Minister and Home Minister to facilitate legal action against them to honour and uphold the rule of law, the oath they took as a minister and also the fair name of people of Karnataka as peace loving, law abiding citizens,” the retired IPS officer added.
