Another man walks into police station after killing wife

Taking cue from the recent double murder in the city where the culprit walked to the police station after killing his wife and motherin-law, a 35-year-old man approached the Govindapura police station early Saturday after hacking his wife to death. Before going to the police station, the accused had dropped his children at his sister’s house asking her to take care of them. The husband was upset over strained marital ties. His wife was not co-operating with him and was abusing him whenever he tried to go near her.
The victim has been identified as Ayesha Bhanu, 31, a resident of Byrappa Layout in Govindapura. She was a housewife. The police have identified the accused as Muzamil Pasha, 35. He hails from Ramanagara and was working in the city as an auto driver.
He got married to Bhanu 11 years ago and had three children. The incident happened at their rented residence in Byrappa Layout at around 1 am on Saturday.
The accused is said to have been under severe depression over his wife’s ill treatment. The matter was brought to the notice of the other family members which drew no response. The couple had fought over the same issue even on Friday. The accused is said to have arranged for a machete to carry out the crime. The police suspect that the murder has happened either when the victim was fast asleep or after a fight.
On being questioned, the accused told the police that he suspected that his wife was having an affair and this illicit relationship which made her ignore him.
The police are in the process of producing the accused before a magistrate want him to be remanded to judicial custody.
It may be recalled that a bakery shop owner had recently walked into the Govindarajanagar police station after killing his wife and mother-in-law.
