Martyr to all: ‘Don’t fight in the name of religion’

The voice note of a soldier from Kodagu, who was on duty in J&K’s Srinagar when he died in a blizzard recently, has gone viral in which he is heard appealing to people not to fight in the name of religion.
Havaldar Altaf Ahmed (37) says: … Don’t fight in the name of religion and caste. Our soldiers are giving their lives so that you are well and safe. Think about the nation and teach your children to do that as well.”
“Don’t fight over hijab and saffron. It hurts us when we see such things. While doing our duty here, we believe that people are good and we are all children of mother India. Don’t waste our sacrifices. When we hear of such things (hijab row), we feel bad because many are dying in front of our eyes at the border.”
