Duo steals cars at service centres, held

Next time you leave your SUV or sedan for servicing, ensure the vehicle will be safe at the service centre. A 54-year-old man who had left his SUV for cleaning was shocked after he got a call from the service centre saying that his SUV had been stolen. Based on a complaint, the police arrested two persons and have recovered two SUVs from their possession.

The accused would divert the attention of the service centre staff and would pick the keys hung in the keyboard and would later drive away with the vehicles. The accused had stolen a car on February 19 and two days later, they had stolen a SUV from a same service centre on Hennur main Road. Hennur police had registered a case of theft following both cases of stealing. The police have identified the accused as Manjunath alias Manju and Sheikh Nawaz. Cops recovered both the vehicles worth around Rs6.95 lakhs.
