Disparity in policemen’s salaries addressed: Araga

The state government has removed the disparity in the salary of police officers, said Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.

Talking to reporters in Tumakuru on Thursday, he said there would have been no disparity had the previous Congress government under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah taken the right decisions. Replying to a question, the minister said there was no need to bring up the Raghavendra Auradkar report on salary for cops in the State budget to be presented by Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai on Friday.

On the Congress demand that a BJP poll ticket should be given to a family member of slain Bajrang Dal activist, Harsha in the 2023 Assembly polls, Araga sought to know whether the Congress party when it was in power, had given tickets to family members of slain activists. The government and the BJP are helping the family of Harsha. “Harsha’s mother has never asked for the BJP ticket to contest from Shivamogga. What’s she asking for is justice for her son and punishment for the assailants. The government is working in this direction”.
