All efforts are on to bring the mortal remains of Naveen Shekarappa Gyangoudar who died in a missile attack, from Ukraine, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said, “Many Kannadigas have been evacuated from Ukraine. Some of them are stranded in war zones of Kharkiv and Kiev. Indian Embassy officials too are trying to reach out to them. The officials have assured to contact them immediately when the war recedes. I spoke to the Union External Affairs Minister and Ukraine Embassy officials yesterday.”
“I will also visit Naveen’s residence in Ranebennur to console his family. The government has decided to present an honorarium to them,” Bommai said before heading to Shikaripur to participate in a farmers’ convention later in the day.
