Saviour of the animal world...even cobras!

A grievously injured cobra was operated upon by a veterinarian who saved it in an incident in Chamarajanagar on Sunday.

According to information reaching here, the snake was injured when it was caught in a tiller in a field in Somwarpet four days ago. On receipt of information, serpent lover ‘Snake Ashok’ brought the injured snake to the district veterinary hospital in Chamarajanagar. Dr Murthy identified it as a cobra and found that it had been injured at two different spots. The doctor performed surgery on the snake and kept it in the hospital for three days under observation.

On finding that it had recovered after three days, Snake Ashok let it go in the Karivaradarajaswamy Hills for natural healing.

So far, Snake Ashok has rescued around 17,000 to 18,000 snakes and left them in forests. The doctor has received a lot of appreciation for saving the life of the snake by performing the surgery at the right time.BJP....” he said.
