Fireman falls from fourth floor while dousing fire

A 37-year-old fire service personnel sustained injuries after he fell down from the fourth floor of a tech park in the HAL area while dousing an accidental fire.

The injured fireman has been identified as Vinay Kumar and the incident took place in Bagamane Tech Park on Saturday night at around 10.30 pm. Kumar reportedly lost balance and accidentally slipped and he was immediately rushed to a private hospital as he had sustained multiple fractures.

Nearly 14 fire tenders were pressed into service when a fire broke out in the third floor and spread to the fourth floor. No casualties were reported in the fire, but furniture and other items were completely gutted. Security supervisor Madharaju alerted the fire department.

The HAL police visited the spot and are trying to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. Electrical short circuit is being suspected to be the cause of fire.
