Shocker! 8-yr-old raped, murdered

Mangaluru: Miscreants allegedly raped an eight year old girl and threw her corpse in a drain at Parari in Ulaibettu village in Mangaluru Sunday night.

The incident happened near a tile factory named ‘Raj’ located at Parari in Ulaibettu. According to police sources, over 30 people work in the factory and the daughter of one of the factory employees aged around 8 went missing Sunday afternoon. The parents launched a search operation but could not trace her till 8 pm. She was found abandoned in a drain near the factory later.

Immediately measures were taken to shift her to the District Wenlock Hospital. But, the girl breathed her last before she reached the hospital. Commissioner of Police N Shashi Kumar said that most employees at the tile factory are from north India and several employees have been detained for interrogation. However, police are yet to be nab the miscreants.

The incident has shocked the entire district and people have urged the police department to nab the culprits at the earliest.
