A working woman was reportedly strangled to death allegedly by her husband after she demanded a divorce from him after getting “frustrated” over his suspicion of her character. The accused strangled his wife to death with a leather belt, according to police.
The police identified the deceased as Nagamma, a native of Raichur. Her husband, Neelakanta, 38, has been arrested by the HAL police. The couple got married around 17 years ago and were living in Kalappa Layout with their two children. The accused is a cab driver.
“The accused frequently fought with his wife, suspecting her fidelity. On Tuesday morning, they fought again. During a heated argument, the victim demanded divorce. Irked by this, he strangled her to death,” said an officer, who is part of the investigation team.
HAL police registered the case and are investigating it further.
