Minister holds meet with DCs, SPs on exam

Dr C.N. Ashwath Narayana, Minister for Higher Education, held a video conference on Wednesday with District Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, Commissioners and other officials of seven districts in connection with the examination scheduled from March 12-16 for selecting 1,242 Assistant Professors for government first grade colleges.

He instructed the officials to ensure that there is no room for any malpractice and maintain transparency at all levels. They were told to find solutions immediately if any issue crops up. The minister also warned the District Commissioners and Superintendents, who are examination officers in the respective districts that they will be held responsible for any untoward incident related to the examination.

Over 33,000 candidates will be writing the examinations at seven places (Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Dharwad, Belagavi, and Kalaburagi). To ensure a hassle free exam 1,409 centre invigilators, 82 observers, 82 custodians and 164 special vigilance squad have been deployed, the minister said.
