Punjab poll result a reminder for Karnataka Congress

The results of the Assembly elections in five states and Punjab in particular have a strong message in them for the Karnataka Congress unit which is making a determined pitch to seize power from the ruling BJP.

Infighting in the Punjab Congress, the splitting away of former Amarinder Singh and the more than obvious rivalry between CM Channi and PCC president Navjyot Singh Sidhu finally left the party a distant second behind the AAP in the elctoral battle.

Not very different is the scenario in the state Congress where two strong contenders for the CM post, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah and KPCC President D K.Shivakumar have been engaged in battle for supremacy in the past few months.

One of the working presidents of the KPCC told News Trail that Karnataka leaders must take the Punjab result as a lesson and try to set right the divide at the top level.
