After the victory in the recent Assembly polls, BJP national leaders are likely to reach Karnataka after March to conduct a ‘major surgery’ in the Basavaraj Bommai government.
Sources said the high command is likely to ask ministers like R. Ashok. V. Somanna, Dr Ashwath Narayana, J.C. Madhuswamy, Murugesh Nirani and Shashikala Jolle to handle party posts and appoint new faces such as P. Rajeev, Poornima Ganesh, Thippareddy, Basangouda Patil Yatnal, Arvind Bellad, S.A. Ramdas or L. Nagendra as ministers for the next 12 months.
Many BJP MLAs are unhappy over having leaders like Somanna, Ashok, and Ashwath Narayana in every government. BJP President J.P. Nadda is likely to depute General Secretary Arun Singh to collect the opinion of legislators on the performance of Bommai before deciding on replacing him.
