Inspector accused of raping woman cop

A police inspector attached to the state intelligence has been accused of raping a woman police constable under false promise of marriage. The victim has filed a complaint against the inspector in Govindarajanagar police station. The inspector is said to have been absconding.

The woman alleged that she was three months pregnant and was forced to abort the foetus by taking an abortion pill at by the suspect in Chikkaballapura. The victim stated in her complaint that she knew the inspector from 2017.

She was first taken to a resort in Bidadi where he first raped her. In 2019, she became pregnant and was forced to abort the foetus. The victim said that the inspector had rented a house in Moodalapalya for her.

But whenever she confronted him about marriage, he used to beat her. A few days back, he is alleged to have kicked on her abdomen and later made threat calls on WhatsApp. Further investigations are on.
