Defection reports are speculative, says CM

There is no question of any one from the BJP defecting to other parties, asserted Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday. Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “I can tell you categorically that no one from our party will defect to other parties.

As for those from other parties hopping to the BJP, just wait and see.” Bommai also disclosed that the BJP State Executive meet would be held on March 30 and 31. The meeting will deliberate and decide on the proposed state tour of leaders and other issues, he said.

The Chief Minister ruled out the possibility of early elections in the state. Replying to a question on Cabinet expansion, he said he will visit Delhi when he gets a call from the party top brass to discuss the issue.

The process to bring the mortal remains of Karnataka medical student Naveen Shekarappa who was killed in shelling in Ukraine, would be initiated immediately after stoppage of hostilities in the wartorn country, he said.
