BMA event, launch of App on March 23

The Bengaluru Merchants Association will hold its annual general body and fourth anniversary and also augment its initiatives in the online space with the launch of an App to promote online trade at a programme on March 23 at the CMA Palace Convention Centre at Hegde Nagar.

The event will also see the launch of online applications to further ecommerce and more so at a juncture when traders are facing tough competition from MNC retailers. The BMA is an umbrella organisation of 400 hyper markets, supermarkets and departmental stores across Bengaluru.

Some of the shops were started as long as 80 years ago.

A meeting of the BMA executive was held before the anniversary at which general secretary P.V. Ashraf stressed the need to be united and fight exploitation. Trade will never be the same which is why the stress should be on online trade, felt association members.

Different cultural programmes have been organised as part of the anniversary in which prominent personalities from the socio-cultural field will participate.
