Five students die in car-bus collision near Belur

Five students were killed when the car in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a KSRTC bus near Sankenahalli on the Hassan-Belur road on Tuesday.

According to information reaching here, the mishap occurred when they were going in a car to Hassan from Belur after their classes. The car collided with the bus coming in the opposite direction and the impact was so strong that four students died on the spot while the fifth breathed his last on the way to hospital.

The police said the deceased are Akmal (21), Jilani (19), Toib (18), Kaif (18). The fifth person is yet to be identified. Belur Police have booked a case and are investigating.
