I f you like to entertain outside or just relax in the fresh air, you know how fast rain, wind, sun, snow, or local pests can ruin an otherwise wonderful day! The good news is that by having a backyard tent, you may be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws at you.
Outdoor shelters are the recent craze among homeowners, whether as portable living spaces or more permanent spaces that could act as extra guest rooms. In the past two years, many have turned their otherwise mundane basic backyards into a home – not so away from home!
The outback deluxe
The outback deluxe is a singleskin tent with mesh screens, huge roof vents, a second door, and velcro flaps that seal in the groundsheet to keep out any creepy crawlies. It is also entirely wind resistant and has transparent glass panels so that you may enjoy the view.
It’s extremely breathable, made of a cotton and polyester combination that’s sturdy and has a natural feel. They are not mass-produced, ensuring that each product is of the utmost quality. Some customers also opt to make the back wall solid, for adding furniture such as a bed or sofa.
The Sibley bell tent
So named after Henry Hopkins Sibley’s 1856 patent, which combines the wind and rain resistance of Native American tipi and a single centre pole design. The Sibley tent has become synonymous with outdoor shelters. Short side walls were later added to the design giving the tent its characteristic bell shape, a new name, and more walk around the room. The modern bell tent can expand up to the size of a hotel room and can easily fit up to 8 people including a full set of furniture.
Made of 100% cotton canvas, the tent comes with a zippered groundsheet. The sidewalls can be rolled up for maximum ventilation also making it ideal for outdoor gatherings. The Sibley can be equipped with a woodburning stove of various designs, additionally, more furniture can be added to make it a more permanent structure.
The pop-up tent
The pop-up is a tent built for the modern man, it comes with LED tent stakes that light up and can also keep your personal gadgets charged. The inner tent is already linked to the extended canopy through the vestibule (at both ends), so you don’t have to put it up separately.
Above each of the doors, there is the option to unfurl an awning and cover the entrance with the poles provided. The poles do not adapt to the height of the tent, which means there might be water pooling on top of the canopy if it rains. The power supply makes this tent the perfect option laying under the stars on hot summer nights when the power is out.
