Unemployed youth commits suicide in friend’s room

A 20-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide in his friend’s room in Byadarahalli Police Station limits

The deceased has been identified as Akash, a resident of Beeranahalli, Sira taluk of Tumakuru district.

The incident came to light when Akash’s friend retur ned from work around 8.30 pm on Tuesday. Seeing Akash hanging from the ceiling, the friend immediately alerted the police and his friends about the incident.

Recently, Akash came to the city seeking employment and had been staying at his friend’s room in Byadarahalli, a source said. “He had been visiting various coampanies in the city seeking a job, but was disappointed,” the source said.

However, the exact cause of the suicide is still unknown, police said.

Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that on Tuesday, when his friend had been to work, Akash was alone in the room. Police suspect he may have hanged himself during that time.
