Bengaluru to host 16th Aerobic Gymnastics National Championships

The Gymnast Association of Karnataka is organizing the 16th Aerobic Gymnastics National Championships in Bengaluru on March 26 and 27 at Gopalan Sports Centre in Whitefield under the aegis of the Gymnastics Federation of India.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, the President of Gymnast Association of Karnataka Dr. Prabhakar said that around 600 sportspersons will be taking part in the event. "This competition is a very important one as it will also be the selection trials for World Aerobic and Asian Championships 2022. The championship will take place under categories of Sub-juniors (Age group 12-14), Juniors (Age group 15-17) and Seniors (Age group 18 & above 18). Aerobic Gymnastics is very similar to floor exercises, it will be a one minute 15 seconds event with music," he said.

Ishan Pandita, Indian footballer will be the chief guest for the championship. He is the first-ever Indian footballer to play La-Liga for a Juvenil side of CD Leganés, a Spanish top division club.
