SSLC exam to begin from Monday

SSLC exams this year will be held between 28 March and April 11. According to the reports released by the education department, a total of 8,73,846 students from 15,387 schools will be appearing for the exam this year.

This comprises 4,52,732 boys and 4,21,110 girls. Four transgender students and 5,307 Children with Special Needs (CWSN) have also registered for the exam.

This year, under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme, there will be 8,20,888 regular and 46,200 private fresh candidates. Around 4,618 regular and 1,253 private candidates are set to take the exam as repeaters (under CCE scheme). Under the New Scheme, 809 regular and 78 private repeaters have registered for the exam.

Around 3,76,685 students from 5,717 government schools; 2,23,032 students from 3,412 aided schools as well as 2,74,129 students from 6,258 unaided schools are preparing to face the SSLC examination this year. There will be 3,444 exam centres, including 1,357 government centres, 1,109 aided and 978 unaided centres.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has made elaborate preparations seeking to conduct the exams in 45,289 exam halls without hassles. Around 3,444 Chief Superintendents and 377 Deputy Chief Superintendents have been appointed for this year’s SSLC exams.

There will be 3,444 question paper custodians, 49,817 invigilators, 3,444 local squad members and 3,444 mobile acquisition officers to monitor the exam centres. Around 3,444 police personnel have been deputed and 1,266 routes have been planned for question paper distribution. The hall tickets were released on March 16.

It is also claimed that all centres are equipped with CCTV cameras and standard operating procedures will be followed in view of COVID-19.

“Candidates can avail free of charge transport facility on KSRTC and BMTC buses by producing their bus passes or exam hall tickets. KSEEB has also designated a helpline for students who need clarifications. Students can contact the helpline on 080-23310075 and 080-23310076 till the 27th of March from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM including holidays,” statement reads.
