Yale, Arzan crowned champions

Bengaluru: Channamallikarjuna Yale completed his dream run and ended up as the singles champion in the boys’ category while the giant killer in the girls’ category Ritika Ravi fell at the final hurdle, losing out to second seed Arzan Khorikawala in the SAT AITA U-14 CS 7 tennis tournament that concluded at the Srinath Academy of Tennis courts here on Friday.

The 13-year-old Yale who began as a qualifier beat four seeds including fifth seed Ahil Ayaz in the title clash which he won 6-4, 6-2 while Arzan was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Ritika who later made amends by joining hands with Isha Girish and winning the doubles title beating the top-seeded pair of Arzan Khorikawala and Saanvi Misra 7-6 (6), 6-4.

The boys’ double title was won by the top-ranked pair of Likith Gowda and Meer Fazal Ali who beat the second-seeded duo of Ahil Ayaz and M Diganth in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
