The curious case of a techie, who had allegedly run away from his house leaving his wife behind, has been solved after five years by the Adugodi police officials.

Koteppa, working with a private firm in Bengaluru, allegedly fled from his house during 2015 without informing his wife, police said. Following the incident, his wife had registered a missing case with Adugodi police who then launched a probe and searched the person across the state.

“The police searched for the person across the districts and had alerted the respective police stations. However, it took seven years for the police to find him,” sources said.

Police said that the person was found in Haveri district. “Koteppa had a bank account which was linked with his wife’s contact number,” a police official said.

“On February 16, his wife received a message on her mobile about Rs 10,000 being credited to the bank account. She immediately informed the police about it,” the official added.

After the police found him, the person alleged that he had run away to escape harassment from his wife. The police said that the person pleaded with them not to be taken back to his wife.

However, police said that the person has been brought back to his family and the dispute between the two has been resolved.
