The Vidyavardaka Technical College hostel in Mysuru has now got what is being touted as the most modern kitchen in the country, which is built by Dolar Engineering Industries.
The kitchen has been armed with advanced technology. It is a centralised unit that can prepare food in large quantities for more than one hostel.
In a statement, KP Jayaprakashan, director of the Dolar group, states: “Education institutions are generally not ready to build such state-of-the-art kitchens, but the Board of Management of the College has built the kitchen for the great concern it has for its students.”
The speciality of the kitchen is that most of the cooking equipment here is mechanical and taste is given priority. Bio waste management is also a priority. The kitchen has advanced cooking tools. Dosa, idli and vada can be easily prepared here.
Suitable for temples, mutts
The institute is renowned for building state-ofthe-art kitchens the world over, including at Sri Kukke Subramanya Temple, Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi, and hundreds of other establishments. According to Jayaprakashan, such kitchens are ideal for monasteries and temples that offer food for their devotees. “These are easy to manage. Any type of food can be easily cooked here:” added Jayaprakashan.
