Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Railways Bhaskar Rao, who recently announced his voluntary retirement from Police Department, is all set to join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday in Delhi, in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Confirming the report, AAP Karnataka President Pruthvi Reddy said that Bhaskar Rao would be joining the AAP on Monday at the party office on the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Road in New Delhi. “Until March 10, the day when the Punjab results were announced, politics was an exclusive club which was meant to be for a very few people. Now people who had no interest in politics are showing interest. People from different classes are joining AAP,” Pruthvi Reddy said.
Talking about the role Bhaskar Rao would play in Karnataka, Reddy said that Karnataka needs 224 Kejriwals. “I am not talking about Kejriwal as a person here but as an ideology. In search of those 224 Kejriwals for Karnataka, Rao will have a huge role to play. It would help AAP Karnataka with faces like Bhaskar Rao in the team to execute the model that Kejriwal has shown in Delhi,” he said.
AAP Bengaluru President Mohan Dasari said that AAP has been a platform for common man and honest politics. “After what happened in Punjab, people are looking towards AAP for honest politics. The party has created an atmosphere for everyone to be part of. All the political parties in Karnataka are corrupt, they can never bring change in society,” he said.
Sharing his views on Bhaskar Rao, Mohan said, “His entry would encourage more and more people to join hands in honest politics,” he said.
Reacting to this, Bhaskar Rao said that he is meeting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday. However, future courses of action will be taken after the meeting.
