Noted sculptor from ‘Namma Mysuru’, Shilpi Arun Yogiraj met PM Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday.
The sculptor has shot to the limelight after chiseling an 18-feet-high statue of Adi Shankaracharya which was unveiled at Kedarnath by PM Modi last year. The PM had sent a word through his office that he wanted to meet Yogiraj in person in Delhi.
Yogiraj presented a two-feet tall stone statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to Modi as a memento. The Mysuru sculptor has carved a niche in the field of sculpture with his carvings adorning several places across the State.
The PM was happy to see the statue of Bose carved in black stone and has shared a picture of him receiving it from Yogiraj on his twitter handle.
The duo spent some time discussing the sculpture. The meeting was facilitated by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha.
