Health workers to stage protest

Karnataka Health Department Contract Employees Association (KHDCEA) will stage a protest on Friday to highlight the plight of contract workers.

Mahesh Nadagouda, President KHDCEA said that 6,463 Covid warriors working on a contract basis were released on March 31. “We demand the state government to appoint them in vacant job positions in the health department across the state. Many workers have not received 2 to 3 months salary before they were relieved, that has to be settled. The government’s announced Covid relief fund for the health workers has to be released immediately. The protest will be held at Freedom Park, around 4,000 workers across the state are expected to participate,” said Mahesh Nadagouda.
