Eight-year-old falls in drain, dies

An eightyear-old boy died after falling into a drain near Udupi Grand Hotel located in Mahadevapura police station limits.

The incident occurred on Wednesday around 11:30 am when Manish Kumar, son of Sanjay Kumar, hailing from Bihar, was playing near the hotel premises.

According to sources, Sanjay was employed as a security guard for a private bank at Graphite India Main Road. On that day Sanjay had taken his son along with him on his duty. While playing, the boy went behind the hotel, but did not return.

Sanjay went on to check on the boy, but instead found his body inside the drain. The drain had been kept open for unknown reasons. The boy failed to notice it and fell inside. The police have taken up a case.
