Bike thief arrested

Kamakshipalya police have arrested a bike robber based out of Tumakuru.

The police have identified the accused as Srinivas from Gubbi in Tumakuru district.

The police said the accused used to steal gearless bikes in Bengaluru. A case filed by a complainant on February 17, who claimed he had parked his bike in front of his house the previous night, but went missing the next morning.

Acting on the complaint, a team of police led by Kamakshipalya Inspector Prashant M nabbed the accused on April 3 and recovered 10 bikes worth Rs 5.20 lakh. It is said that Srinivas is involved in robbery after his wife got separated from him.
