The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will resume all its services in all divisions (8000 buses, including Volvo) from Wednesday, after nearly three years of running limited services because of Covid-19 restrictions.

The transport provider had incurred losses worth hundreds of crore due to curtailment of services. The corporation operates long distance services across seven southern states. In a statement the KSRTC said after the fall in Covid cases, people are now travelling in large numbers.

According to the reports, with a long weekend ahead from April 14 to 17, due to Dr B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti and a host of festivals including Mahavir Jayanti, Souramana Ugadi, Vishu Good Friday, and Easter, KSRTC will deploy more than 200 vehicles to various destinations in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa and Pondicherry.

To celebrate the full-fledged running of services after three years, KSRTC would be distributing roses and pens to senior citizens while chocolates would be distributed among the children.

With Kerala celebrating Vishu (New Year) about 400 Volvo buses have been booked for the state from Wednesday.
