Dharmashree, granddaughter of former CM late N. Dharam Singh, joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Mysuru on Tuesday.

She was formally inducted into the party by AAP State President Prithvi Reddy who put the party cap on her head and presented her a shawl.

Reddy said till the Punjab Assembly elections, his party was restricted to Delhi and had felt that it would be difficult to win polls in other states. But AAP has achieved a big revolution in Punjab by achieving a landslide victory. In Punjab, 11 doctors and seven advocates were elected to the assembly on the AAP ticket. The biggest achievement is that a mobile phone repair technician defeated the then CM in the elections. Prithvi said that many social workers have stayed away assuming that politics does not suit them. But change can be achieved only through politics.
