Rain throws City life out of gear
Bengaluru: Heavy rain lashed several parts of the city on Saturday evening. Motorists, especially two-wheeler riders faced a lot of inconvenience to commute due to waterlogging at underpasses and low-lying areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 47 mm rainfall in the city and 9.4 mm rainfall at HAL Airport.
Water logging was reported from Chickpet, Koramangala, Shivananda Circle, Gandhi Nagar and Mysore Road while many trees were uprooted in Basaveshwara Layout, Attiguppe, Vijayanagar, Thyagarajanagar, Bull Temple Road, Nagasandra Circle. One car and three two-wheelers were damaged when a tree crashed on them. Dirt water from drains entered many homes at KP Agrahara. Rain water entered into a few shops on Magadi Road.
