Banjara community members join AAP

Bengaluru: About 20 members of Banjara community joined Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday in Bengaluru. Led by Guru Chauhan, the new members donned the party’s cap and vowed to replicate Kejriwal’s Delhi model in Karnataka.
“The Banjara community is one of the most affected backward communities in Karnataka. In addition, many rural areas of the state are lagging in facilities such as electricity and education. AAP will be a platform to achieve developmental goals for such regions and communities,” Raju Chauhan said. The retired teacher was actively involved in social welfare through several associations of the backward classes and workers.
AAP Bengaluru Vice President Suresh Rathod said that the party’s activities are not confined to a particular community. “AAP has received the support of the Banjara community across the state,” he said.
