Karaga festival kicks of in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The annual Karaga procession at Dharmaraya Swami temple fair in Thigalarapalya, from Nagarthpet to City Market Circle, began late in the night on Saturday. Close to 600 policemen were deployed to ensure safety of the religious procession.

The ritual of ‘Gavanna’ placing offerings of a rice dish at four corners on the road leading to the temple completed at 11.15 pm.

Around 15 traders at SP road traders, who own computer shops, have arranged for meals and drinking water for close to 35000 people.
