Bengaluru: Unidentified miscreants broke into a wholesale textile shop in Halasuru Gate police station limits and made away with Rs 10 lakh in cash and silver ornaments, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place on April 14 at a shop owned by a merchant Pratap Ram, inside Suresh complex near Betappa Lane, police said. It was found that on Thursday, one of the employees of the shop, Bolaram, locked the shop before going for lunch at 2 pm. When he returned around 3:15 pm, he found the lock had been broken. Immediately he informed Pratap Ram about the incident. The shop owner checked the locker and was shocked to find Rs 10 lakh in cash and silver valuables he had kept inside it had been stolen. “It is suspected that someone was aware about the valuables hidden inside the locker in the shop and had plotted to steal it,” police said. A complaint was filed at the jurisdictional police station and the police have launched a probe to identify and nab the miscreants involved.
