Price rise: Cong plans protest in all seats
By NT Correspondent
Mysuru: The Congress Party is planning to hold protest rallies in all 224 Assembly constituencies soon against price rise and the anti-people policies of both the state and Union governments, said Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah.
Participating in a rally here on Wednesday against the ‘40 per cent commission scam’ in government departments in the State and the sky-rocketing of prices of essential commodities across the country, he said he had never seen a government worse than this in his 45 year-long political career.
The BJP led NDA government talks of clean politics but Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not acted on the complaint lodged by Karnataka Contractors Association President Kempanna regarding the 40 per cent commission in government departments.
During the 2018 Assembly election campaign, Modi had termed his (Siddaramiah’s) government as ‘10 per cent government’ but the same BJP government in Karnataka was demanding 40 per cent commission from contractors.
This even led to the suicide of a Belagavi-based civil contractor, Santosh Patil after RDPR Minister K.S. Eshwarappa demanded 40 per cent commission from him.
“I want to know whether Eshwarappa is a man or a demon”? he asked.
