Bengaluru: Ayyali Desai, a gunman of Afzalpur Congress MLA M.Y. Patil and another accused, Rudragouda have been arrested in connection with the alleged irregularities in the Police Sub-Inspector(PSI) written examination, informed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He told reporters in Kalaburagi on Thursday that the investigative agency had been asked to probe deep and expose all those behind the PSI exam scandal which rocked a few examination centres recently. “We had made arrangements to hold the selection examination on the lines of UPSC. The government endeavour is to put an end to illegal means of accessing secret documents despite tight security”.
The CM said the government wanted the competitive examination to be held in a transparent manner but with complaints pouring in, the cops were asked to launch a thorough investigation without delay. The owners of educational institutions in Kalaburagi were interrogated. The head of Jnanajyothi School is absconding and a search is on, he said adding that those who have passed out would also be questioned.
The CM made it clear that Divya Hagaragi, a prime accused in the PSI selection exam scam did not hold any responsible position in the BJP. A decision on holding a re-exam and whether the case should be referred for a judicial probe or to the CBI would be taken after receipt of the interim report, he added.
