Hubballi: The police on Friday escorted 20-year-old Abhishek Hiramath, who is in judicial custody for allegedly inciting violence in Hubballi on Saturday night, to the examination centre for the second Pre-University Board examination.
Abhishek wrote the Business Studies paper sitting in a separate block at the Mahesh PU College in the city. He was taken back to the jail after the exam.
The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court on Thursday permitted Hiremath to attend the examinations. The court had directed the police to provide Abhishek reading material to prepare for the exam and escort him to the examination centre.
Violence erupted in Hubballi after Abhsihek had put a morphed image of a saffron flag atop Grand Mosques of Makkah and Madinah as his WhatsApp status. Police arrested Hiremath on charges of hurting religious sentiments. The police arrested Wasim Pathan, a main accused in the violence, on Thursday.
